What was the evolution of towns?
 
  A) Towns evolved from a merchant and banking class. As trade expanded, the towns grew into cities and eventually took over neighboring towns. This is how a rural-based civilization turned into a city-based civilization.
  B) Towns evolved from those members of feudal society that had no job in the manor. They, in turn, worked unskilled labor until a steady influx of people grew the town into a city.
  C) Towns evolved from a merchant class. Once the merchants were established, foreigners would settle in the town, as that was their only opportunity to enter feudal society. The town would then grow into a city.
  D) Towns evolved from a banking class and unskilled labor. As the town grew, an influx of people forced it to expand and take over neighboring towns. This became a city.
