The cross-over percentage between linked genes:
J and M = 20%
J and N = 70%
M and N - 50%
J and L = 35%
L and K = 15%
M and L = 15%
Find the sequence of genes on this chromosome.
(Numerical Response)

Can someone please explain? How would you find the sequence of genes?

J M L K N

Though the JN and MN distances makes this a mathematical and not genetic exercise.

The lower the cross over percentage, the closer the genes are to each other. N and J are the farthest apart, 70%, and therefore make up the ends. JM, LK, and ML are next to each other due to the 15% and 20% values being too close together to have overlap, therefore they must be in the order JMLK with N being the final end cap. The detail is in the fact that L is equidistant to the K and the M, and therefore given the relative locations of the other genes it must be between the two. To be honest, the JL and MN information is not necessary.
