The lymphatic system in humans.

Description
(a) The major components of the lymphatic system. Primary lymphoid organs are shown in red, and secondary lymphoid structures are shown in green. In adult humans, the primary lymphoid organs in bone are found in the sternum, ribs, parts of the skull, small regions of the femur and humerus, and, as shown here, the hip bones. (b) The structure of a lymph node. Lymph nodes occur along the course of lymphatic vessels, which drain interstitial fluid from tissues and return it to the venous circulation. Within a lymph node, lymph percolates through open cavities containing clusters of lymphocytes.
