Simmon's Citrate Test

Description
In this tube, citrate is the only carbon source for the bacteria to use as a fuel source. Therefore, only those that can use it experience growth. As they utilize it, they cause the agar to turn blue. The tube in the middle is un-inoculated and the one on the right is negative for citrate usage.
