a.XrY, XRXr, and XRY

b.XRYr, XRXr, and XrYr

c.XRY, XRXR, and XrY

d.XRY,  XRXr, and XrY

Hint to question 1: The son, Alexis, suffered greatly from his bouts of internal bleeding associated with hemophilia. His mother turned to the holy man Rasputin for help. It is thought that Rasputin helped fan the flames of the Russian Revolution. Have you heard the song "Rasputin" by Boney M?

In the first question, we know that hemophilia is an X-linked recessive trait. This means that it will not be found on the Y chromosome. This eliminates answer b.

We know that the mother was a carrier so she has to be XRXr. She can't be XRXR or she would be normal. This eliminates answer c.

The child is affected so he must have an Xr chromosome. The recessive trait will not be found on the Y. This eliminates answer a.

The answer is d. ~~~XRY makes the father normal. ~~~ XRXr makes the mother a carrier.  ~~~XrY makes the child a hemophiliac.

I hope my answer made sense.
