Pre–Main-Sequence Stars

Description
Pre–Main-Sequence Stars
Seen in infrared, the two large bright objects in the center of this image are
pre–main-sequence stars. They have recently shed their cocoons of gas and
dust but still have strong stellar winds that create their irregular shapes. The
two stars are an optical double; that is, they are not orbiting each other.
