Examples of thrombophlebitis

Description
Superficial thrombophlebitis of the leg.

Thrombophlebitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of a vein, usually accompanied by the formation of a blood clot (thrombus) within the affected vein. This condition can occur in both superficial veins (near the surface of the skin) and deep veins (located within the muscles). When it occurs in superficial veins, it is known as superficial thrombophlebitis, while in deep veins, it is referred to as deep vein thrombophlebitis or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
