Reconstruction Drawing of the Temple of Aphaia, Aegina

Description
c. 500 or c. 475 BCE.

The temple of Aphaia on Aegina
No sculpture remains from the metopes and the pediments are exhibited in Munich.
They were originally painted brightly.
The challenge of triangular pediments was explored through compositions such as in the Dying Warrior sculpture, where a figure reclines.
