Erechtheion "ارخثيون"

Description
Akropolis, Athens. 430s-406 BCE. View from the east. Porch of the Maidens at left; the north porch can be seen through the columns of the east wall.

The site of the Erechtheion was, in mythology, where Poseidon and Athena held a contest for patronage of Athens.

The north and east porches of the Erechtheion contain exemplary Ionic orders.
The Porch of the Maidens on the south side features six caryatids supporting an Ionic entablature.
