A C4 Plant: Millet

Description
In Eleusine coracana (a type of millet) and other C4 plants, sugars carbon is fixed the first time in mesophyll cells, which are near air spaces in the leaf. Carbon fixation occurs for the second time in bundle-sheath cells, which ring the leaf veins.
