Heme Protein

Description
Heme, modeled two ways. This small organic molecule participates in catalysis of many enzymatic reactions. In other contexts, it carries oxygen (such as in hemoglobin molecules), or electrons (such as in cytochrome enzymes). The iron atom at its center (Fe) can accept and donate electrons.
