Migration and gene flow.

Tags
Description
In this example, two populations of a deer species are separated by a mountain range. On rare occasions, a few deer from the western population travel through a narrow pass and become members of the eastern population, thereby changing some of the allele frequencies in the population and promoting gene flow.
