Description
Proper oil pressure is very important for the operation of any engine. Low oil pressure can cause engine wear, and engine wear can cause low oil pressure.
If main thrust or rod bearings are worn, oil pressure is reduced because of leakage of the oil around the bearings.

To measure engine oil pressure, remove the oil pressure sending (sender) unit usually located near the oil filter. Screw the pressure gauge into the oil pressure sending unit hole.
