If the pfizer or moderna vaccines are about 95% affective against the varient they were designed for, how affective are they likely to be for the worst of the mutations?

Eventually the virus will mutate enough that the vaccine will be rendered useless

Yes, but at the current moment as that we can try to prevent it from mutating much more. How affective is it likely to be? I'm assuming a new vaccine would just take another 9 months.

If it behaves like the flu, then there'll be a new variant each year. A booster shot will be required. I don't see how we can prevent it from mutating if it's circulating around the world.

I never said we can stop it from mutating. I am just hoping we all get these vaccines before we need altered versions.

You know, naturally the virus isn't easily mutated -- there have been studies that show this. For example, comparing genomes from the early 2000's to 2019 showed very little genomic change. But it can easily be manipulated in a lab, this is why COVID-19 is drastically different than what you find in nature.

You believe the conspiracy that it was lab made and not evolved and transmitted through animals?

There are three prominent scientists (molecular biologists, virologists, and the former head of the CDC) that have hypothesized its origin being manufactured in a lab, and have provided compelling evidence suggesting that it has. My common sense believes these claims.

Believing in this "conspiracy" to me is the most accurate measure of what actually happened in Wuhan, China.

Who are these scientists? They aren't in the majority. Why does the current CDC director not see it that way? Has anyone Trump hired not ended up being a yes man?
