In some mammalian tissues, the mRNAs for proteins such as apolipoprotein-B and glutamate receptors are edited before translation to alter the information encoded in the original genes.

What enzymes are responsible for this editing, and what do they do?
What will be an ideal response?

Ans: The enzymes responsible for RNA editing in these genes are cytidine and adenosine deaminases. These enzymes deaminate the nucleotide base of certain nucleotides, such as altering a C to a U or an A to an I (inosine).
