Explain why enzyme mediated reactions slow and stop at temperatures above 50 degrees C? It is for a biology review packet. It is about Biochemistry and I need help on answering it. So PLEASE help me with this question. It is greatly appreciated.

if i had to guess, i would have to say that since all enzymes are proteins, and proteins denature at high temperatures, once the enzyme denatures, it is no longer functional

Heat speeds up the metabolic activity of enzymes and lower temperatures slow down the enzymes

As enzymes are proteins they cook at that temperature and become denatured (just like the whit of an egg). And this changes there shape so they stop working.
