Hi there!

What equation would be used to calculate the genotype frequencies at Hardy Weinberg equilibrium for a hexaploid (6N) organism? Assume 2 alleles with frequencies p and q.

I know the diploid equation would be p^2+2pq+q^2=1 but I'm not sure how this translates to a hexaploid organism?

Thanks!
