We learned about DNA and genes in Biology a few weeks ago and I just wondered if there was a way to find out what my genes are. (homozygous - AA or aa, heterozygous - Aa, just in case you didnt know)

Out of the ~35,000 genes? You can't.

For the ones you can see the phenotype of? You should be able to figure out your genotype by looking at your parents and grandparents.

Since Human is a very complicated animal, hair colors, skin color, hight, etc, are all controlled by multiple genes. Factors are almost enourmos, so "Being Homozugout for blonde hair color" is simply meaningless.

There are only 2 situations where you can tell:

1) if you have a recessive characteristic.  The genes for that one would have to be homozygous.

2) if you have a dominant characteristic and one of your parents has the recessive version of the same characteristic.  Then you must be heterozygous for that one.
