The power in watts of the iron is 120v x 9A = 1080 Watts.

1 Watt = 1 Joule per second. So the iron is generating 1080 Joules per second.

One minute = 60 seconds.

The iron generates 1080 * 60 Joules in 1 minute.

The iron generates 64,800 Joules in 1 minute.

V x A = Power (Watts). 1.0 Watt = 1.0 Joule per second. (1.0W = 1.0J/s)

120V x 9 A = 1,080 Watts. = 1,080 Joules per second. x 60s/min = 64.8 kJ of heat per minute..
