- Fraternal birth order effect: If the sibling group is comprised of all males, the youngest male has the highest probability of being homosexual.
- There is no influence on number of younger brothers, number of sisters, nonbiological siblings, or sibling sex ratio.
- Mechanism: The maternal immune system produces antibodies in response to each male fetus, a response which strengthens with each subsequent male offspring and influences sexual differentiation of the male brain.
