1. Between 1996 and 2001,Cochrane,Alberta, was the fastest growing municipality in Canada with a per capita growth rate of 0.589. There were about 7424 people living in Cochrane in 1996. How many people lived there in 2001.
Hint(N) in 1996=7424 and cgr=0589. Can you convert the cgr formula. Remember to add the increase to the initial population in 1996.

2.Six one-drop samples in a Paramecium sp.population had the following number of organisms : 4,6,5,3,6,and 6. If 20 drops represent 1mL of solution and the volume of the solution is 40mL calculate the size of the population.

3.  In studying a population of lizards, scientists sampled 46 sections of a habitat. Each section was 29kmsquared. The density of lizards was 1/3.8 kmsquared.

a)Calculate the size of the lizard population living in the area.

b) What assumption did you make regarding the distribuition of population of this population throughout its habitat when calculating your results?

Please I really need help, these are the only ones that i dont understand . Slight Smile
