Previously asked question:
A stimulus of 70 millivolts (mV) applied to dendrite end causes an impulse to travel along the neuron.  A stimulus of 50 mV produces a similar action.  This demonstrates that
Posted Answer:  depolarization is not dependent up on the strength of the stimulus

Is this correct?

Based on the following from my course material: "When a neuron becomes stimulated sufficiently by a threshold stimulus, the point of stimulation becomes depolarized and the depolarization spreads along the length of the unmyelinated neuron."

"When the stimulus makes the membrane potential more positive and the threshold potential is reached, the voltage-gated sodium channels (purple) open, allowing the sodium ions from extracellular fluid to enter the cell."

I think the answer is:  above the threshold value, the neural response is constant.

Please confirm.  Thank you!

Should be: above a threshold value, the neural response is constant
