-5x + 6y = -22 Without anything else it is impossible to go further.

That's easy! Move the constant (8) over to the right side of the equals sign. Then add the two constants together. Then, move the -5x over to the right aswell. After that you divide everything by 6 (because you need to get y alone) and bam! Simplify and you have your answer Slight Smile
It needed to be in y=mx+b form (slope-intercept) right?

-5x+6y-8=-30
-5x+6y-8+8=-30+8
-5x+6y=-22
-5x+5x+6y=-22+5x
6y=-22+5x
6y/6=-22/6+5x/6
y= -22/6+5/6(x)

6y - 8 = -30 + 5x
6y + 22 = 5x
answer:
either, x=(6y+22)/5 OR y=(5x-22)/6
