How do you solve this generating functions problem?
Show how you derive the number of ways to select 17 cookies from 4 flavors where there are at most 3, 4, 5 and 8 cookies available for each flavor, respectively.

Know the solution already. But the process of getting that solution is still hard to get. Can anyone show me step-by-step of how to get the solution?
