I have to do this writing assignment for Earth adn Space class. The question is "Why measuring gravity is important to the study of Earth".
Can anyone provide me with some answers or links to some websites?
Thanks in advance. Smiling Face with Open Mouth
Plus, if you used a website, can you link it too? It will defiantly help me!

Because, the Earth is an enormous object and we cannot take any direct measurements of its mass, composition....mass destribution...etc.

basic Physics concepts and simple calculations can be used to estimate these things.
Eg- Use of   g=GM/r^2   to calculate the mass of the Earth as 6x10^24 kg (approx)

furthermore, the variation of density and the behaviour of the Earth's orbiting and Stars including our sun all can be explained using concepts of Gravity.
