A habitat is where a creature lives. A resource, if you are referring to a creature, is what it uses to eat to live, make a home, or make a living.

Habitat the place where a particular species live and grow. It is essentially the environment?at least the physical environment?that surrounds (influences and is utilised by) a species population. The importance of species population should be noted - a species population, say a group of monkeys living in a particular forest makes the later their habitat. Another group of same monkey species, but different population, may live in another forest elsewhere and thus makes this other forest their habitat. So, it is neither the species, nor the individual, for which the term habitat is typically used.
Another important point is that the physical environment has to be natural - if one captures a group of monkeys and keeps them in a zoo, the zoo does not become their habitat.
Resource is a somewhat different concept - it is the natural wealth that can be used to meet human needs.
So, in recognising the difference, we can say that habitat is the natural advantage that every species population uses for its needs, while resource is the the natural advantage that only human uses to satisfy their needs.

A habitat is a place to live, a resource is something to use.
