the question is : Phosphofructokinase is considered to be the enzyme responsible for controlling the rate-limiting step of the glycolytic pathway.  Why would this step be considered rate-limiting step?  Explain with reference to the feedback mechanisms that are occurring in cell respiration.

Phosphofructokinase (PFK) is the enzyme that controls the third step of glycolysis, the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate (F6P) into fructose-1,6-biphosphate (F1,6BP). It works by transferring a phosphate group from ATP to F6P. This is the slowest reaction in glycolysis and therefore is the rate-limiting step.

I've never heard of it as the "slowest".

It's the rate limiting step because it is controlled via negative feedback
