Every month, a boy gets allowance. Assume last year he had no money, and kept it up to now. Then he spends 1/2 of her money on clothes, then 1/3 of the remaining money on games, and then 1/4 of the remaining money on toys. After he bought all of that, he had $7777 left. Assuming he only gets money by allowance, how much money does he earn every month?

I found this answer online. Hope it helps!

"First, you need to find out how much money she got in the entire year through allowance.
Let x= how many dollars she got from allowance in the year
Let 1/2x = the number of dollars she spent on clothes
1/3 of the 1/2 left is 1/6, so let 1/6x= the number of dollars she spent on games
Now she has spent a 1/2 portion of his money and a 1/6 portion of her money, so he has 2/6, or 1/3 of his money left. 1/4 of the remaining 1/3 is 1/12, so let 1/12x= how much money he spent on toys.
1/2x + 1/6x + 1/12x represents how much money he spent total
7777= x - (1/2x + 1/6x + 1/12x)
7777= x - 3/4x
1/4x = 7777, so therefore x = 31108. he earned $31,108 in the entire year.
Assuming that he gets the same amount of allowance every month, 31108/12, which equals $2592.33, is how much allowance he gets every month."
If you are reading this, you are awesome, and I wish you a happy and prosperous day!
