What is the longest phase of mitosis, metaphase or prophase?

What is the longest phase of mitosis, metaphase or prophase?

I have found conflicting answers in three textbooks and many online sources. Please answer this and cite your source. The course professor maintains it is prophase.

We did a lab a while ago where we calculated the % of cells in each phase and it is roughly:

80% interphase
8% prophase
4% metaphase
4% anaphase
4% telophase
