Hey everyone,
I have been swelling and hurting in my legs real bad and I went to the doctor trying to find out what is going on with my legs but I don't get a answer because they don't know. Can someone please help me to find out what is going on with my legs? Thank you , Patty

Upper or lower legs? (above or below the knee)

How much swelling?  Is the skin cracking?  Do you have any leaking of fluid?  If you push the skin in with your finger, how deep does it go and how long does the push stay?  Describe the pain?  Stinging, aching, sharp, shooting, throbbing?

What is your history?  Do you have hypertension?  Heart Failure?  Kidney Failure?  Liver Diseases?  Give your entire history.

It's impossible to help you without this information *at a minimum*.  Wouldn't hurt to post a pic of the swelling, either.

My legs swell bad if i was to push in on them with my finger there is a dent that appears and it stays I am on fluid pills and they help some but it doesn't take it all away. I don't have any history of any that you asked and I have had tests done and all came back good. I had a ultral sound of my heart the doctor said it was fine. I have had kidney stones in the past which was twice once I had to have surgery. The fluid pills I take twice a day at 40mg each and it helps some like I said but not much and the pain is aching burning and it is hard for me to walk at times. Thank you for helping me

Has the fluid ever been aspirated to find out what type of fluid it is?  As far as the pain, burning pain is often neurological.  You may want to suggest neurontin to your doctor as a try for the pain.  As far as the swelling goes, you can take more Lasix than 40 mg, and there are other ways to rid yourself of fluids like that.

Do you have any decreased kidney function?  Not necessarily stones, but decreased function due to diabetes, high blood pressure, congenital defect, etc.?  Any problems at all with your kidneys?

I wouldn't feel comfortable making any other suggestions, then.  Sorry.  Neurontin is probably the best bet for that type of pain.  I hope you're able to find some relief.

Unfortunately that's a common situation for someone with a chronic issue like you've described. (people are forced to choose between quitting driving or living with constant pain)
