Answer: The ideal answer will include:
1. They are a minority population in countries throughout Europe.
2. Their history is traced to the ninth century in India and features frequent migration.
3. They are frequently assigned a low status in the areas where they have settled.
4. The low status results in unequal access to social services and necessities.
5. This is an example of status inequality based on an ascribed position.
