A
The nurse who stops a demonstration of applying antiembolism stockings to answer a client's question is following the teaching principle of timing. If the client has a question it is important to answer the question right away, so the focus may return to the task being taught.
Setting priorities is important to conserve the time and energy of the client and nurse. The nurse who stops to answer a question is not setting priorities.
A client learns best on the basis of pre-existing cognitive abilities and knowledge. This situation is not an example of building on existing knowledge.
Organizing teaching material means the nurse considers the order of information to present. This is not an example of organizing teaching materials.
