The excess of sugar will be sensed by the hypothalamus and it will send a positive feedback to the pituitary gland then to the liver to begin releasing insulin. The insulin then in the blood will act through transduction pathways to the cell and through secondary messengers inside the cell, which then allow cells to absorb this extra sugar which are excess than the sugar can usually hold. When the blood sugar is back to normal, this sends a negative feed back to the brain, and stopping the process. Hope it is simple enough  lol
