Determine inputs that yield the minimum values for each function. Compute the minimum value in each case.

H(x) = 4x^4 - 4x^2 + 109

is it okay to let x^2 = t?

Ergo, 4t^2 - 4t + 109

= 4(t^2 - t) = -109
   4 (t - 1/2)^2 = -109+1

(1,2 108) equals vertex

That's a good technique, actually,

In this case, the graph is way up at 109 and never passes the x-axis.

Once you get it 4t^2 - 4t + 109, try to find the t-intercepts. You'll notice that there are none. Then you can set x to zero in the original equation to find the y-intercept.
