i am having a hard time with these questions



predict the geometry for the central atom in each compounds below

H3O+
BCl4-


i don't know how to find the lone pairs.



i am doing CCl4

i did the line structure

and C has four bond and i looked at the periodic table and C is in row 4

so all the bonds are good - an its a tetrahedral

but with the   


H3O+ i don't understand why its a trigonal pyramidal and i don't understand the others also can you please explain how to do this?
