Feedback:
No specific antibiotic, antiviral, or other treatment has been found that will prevent or cure HIV/AIDS or herpes simplex virus 1 or 2 . Individuals infected with viral STIs are infected for life. Treatment of STIs is often difficult. Resistance to antibiotics is problematic. A person also may have more than one STI simultaneously, which makes treatment difficult. Antibody immunity does not develop in many of the STIs, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, or trichomoniasis, which leads to the need for continual surveillance and lifetime problems. Individuals may become infected more than once.
