Feedback:
The nurse should use bacitracin ointment as a topical agent in dressing superficial and facial burns. It should be applied as a thin layer two or three times per day. Other topical agents used in burn injuries include mafenide acetate, silver sulfadiazine, and silver nitrate. Psoralen is a photosensitizing agent used in photochemotherapy for treatment of psoriasis. Methotrexate and calcipotriene are used in the treatment of psoriasis and not injury caused by burns.
