When compared to the original National Comorbidity Survey (NCS), the results of the National Comorbidity Survey Replication (NCS-R), published in 2003:
 
  a. found that while prevalence of comorbid DSM-IV diagnoses remained high, the efficacy of treatment had sharply risen
  b. demonstrated both a dramatic reduction in the prevalence of comorbid DSM-IV diagnoses and a significant increase in efficacy of treatment
  c. confirmed the high prevalence of, relatively low frequency of effective treatment for, and frequent comorbidity of DSM-IV diagnoses seen in the original NCS
  d. indicated an increase in the prevalence of comorbid DSM-IV diagnoses, but also an increase in the frequency of effective treatment
