Bile, which is released by the liver and stored in the gallbladder is used to emulsify fat. If bile is being obstructed from release, the person will have a hard time digesting the meal.

I second that, and if the patient did have some fats in their meal, it would be poorly digested and most of it will end up being excreted with feces mostly suffering from diarrhea that is of a very foul odor due to the fats in the feces.  Face with Open Mouth
