a . Possible Response Points:
i. Similarity (across demographic factors as well as preferences, interests, personality characteristics, etc.; note the matching hypothesis and note the use of mimicry as a strategy to elicit liking from others)
ii. Physical Attractiveness (note the what is beautiful is good effect; note the likely evolutionary roots of this effect; note that symmetry and average-ness of facial characteristics contribute to perceived attractiveness)
iii. Reciprocity (or the idea that liking begets liking; note the likely evolutionary roots of reciprocity effects)
iv. Friendliness (note the use of ingratiation in forming and maintaining relationships)
v. Propinquity (or the idea that physical proximity can help to foster liking; note complementariness to the mere exposure effect)
