What is the change in area (in cm2) of a 60.0 cm by 150cm automobile windshield when the temperature changes from 0° Cto 36.0° C. The coefficient of linear expansion of glass is9 ´ 10-6/°C.
change in area =a1*β*ΔT
where β=2α
so 60*150*2*9*10-6*36=5.832cm2
