All frogs have their own matting call so when a frog does croak the right species hears it and responds to it and not another species. This adaptation has keep frogs from completely dying out. If 2 different species tried to mate and it did work that animal fetus would most likely be sterile keeping it from reproducing and eventually dying out or be deformed and die anyway. Whats to keep these same species from matting again if they cant tell the difference this adaptation goes deeper that what sound they make its also what time of the year it is, the frogs size and color and scents it gives off etc.
