The nurse is caring for a client receiving IV fluids via an electronic infusion device when the alarm indicating occlusion rings on the pump. What should the nurse do first?
 
  a. Assess all tubings for kinks.
  b. Assess the pump for the proper rate.
  c. Assess the IV fluid bag to be sure adequate volume is in the bag.
  d. Make sure that the pump is plugged into the electrical outlet.
