The parametric counterpart to the Wilcoxon signed rank test is the one-sample t-test. The one sample t-test assumes that the underlying population is normally distributed and that the data are continuous on the ratio or interval scale. The Wilcoxon signed rank test assumes that the underlying population is approximately symmetric and that the data are continuous on the ratio or interval scale.
