Ans: B
Feedback:
Although people with diabetes are at increased risk for the development of cataracts and anterior chamber glaucoma, retinopathy is the most common pattern of eye disease. Diabetic retinopathy is characterized by abnormal retinal vascular permeability, microaneurysm formation, neovascularization and associated hemorrhage, scarring, and retinal detachment. In conjunction with the retinopathy, the inflammatory response causes macular edema rather than loss of vitreous fluid (dehydration). Intraocular infection is an uncommon, yet potential, complication of retinal surgery.
