a. Turn ribbed collar to open position until it stops.
b. Turn ribbed collar to close arrow.
c. Inject medication.
d. Insert sterile cartridge-needle unit.
e. Put on gloves.
f. Thread plunger rod into plunger of cartridge.
g. Verify physician's order.
h. Perform medical asepsis hand wash.
i. Disengage plunger rod.
j. Dispose of used equipment properly.
