With the present technology and methods in gene splicing, DNA transfer and other gene-manipulating techniques. I am curious if we could transfer the DNA Strand which jumpstarts transdiferrentiation in the Turritopsis Nutricula (Immortal Jellyfish) into a mammalian gene? If we can do it, can we achieve immortality (not considering diseases and other mortality causes) or at the very least long-lasting life. What do you think?

Would you happen to know the biochemical pathway associated with trans-differentiation gene?

Well, we could do DNA Mapping and Gene Analysis to find out the specific gene that starts this process. Transdifferentiation usually starts in Turritopsis Nutricula after sexual maturity. We could do the same process that we are doing in silk goats by transferring the silk-producing gene from silk spiders to milk producing goats. Thereby silk is also produced with the milk.
