The directions are
Drag the labels to the table to indicate which chordates (listed down the side) belong to each clade (listed across the top). Remember that a chordate may belong to more than one clade.

Chordates and clades

Lampreys

a) Yes

Lampreys are jawless fish having a rudimentary true vertebrae. So it belongs to vertebrates.

b) No

Lampreys have no limbs. They lack paired fins which was thought to be evolved as legs in our ancestors. So they don't belong to tetrapods.

Ray finned fishes

c) Yes

Ray finned fishes have jaws. Two main bones of jaw, maxilla and premaxilla are presnt in them which are attached to skull.

d) Yes

Ray finned fishes have amniotic eggs. They have well developed mammary glands in females as well.

Amphibians

e) Yes

Amphibians all have four limbs. So they belong to Tetrapods. eg: Frog

f) No

Amphibians don't have amniotic eggs, because they lack amnion. So when they lay eggs on land, it may dry out. Instead they lay eggs in water. So they are not amniotes.

Reptiles

g) Yes

Reptiles are tetrapod vertebrates. Some of them have four limbs and others are descended from four-limb ancestors.

h) Yes

Reptiles have amniotic eggs. They have well developed shells and other structures to protect embryo and also maintains a moist condition while it grows.

Mammals

i) Yes

Mammals are amniotes. They do not lay eggs. Embryos are developed inside mother's womb.
