D
The most commonly used antivenin is CroFab, which was first introduced in 2001. The drug should be given as soon as possible, optimally timing administration within the first 6 hours of envenomation. The solution is infused slowly. CroFab appears to be safer than conventional antivenin therapy. Mild to moderate allergic reactions can occur, but anaphylaxis is rare.
