The Orthodox Jewish patient has died at 3 AM on a Wednesday and no family member was present. The culturally competent nurse should, before the family arrives:
1.   cover the patient’s face with a white towel.
2.   call the hospital Rabbi to come and stay with the body.
3.   place the patient’s copy of the Koran at the bedside.
4.   wash the body and straighten up the room.

Death practices of this group are very strict. However, in the absence of family, the Orthodox Rabbi can stay with the body, but no non-Jewish person should touch the body. The Koran is the religious guide for those of the Muslim faith.
